Announcement
It is hereby notified that on account of requirement for adjustment, the consular fee for all the consular/miscellaneous applications submitted to Travisa Outsourcing offices in Washington DC, New York, Houston, San Francisco and Chicago would stand increased by $ 3 in each case with effect from 18 April 2011. Any application completed online on or after 18 April will be processed at the adjusted rates.

EMERGENCY VISA
Emergency Services will be available only on Saturdays and other holidays (check Embassy holiday list) are granted to persons of Indian origin only living in the jurisdiction covered by the Embassy of India, Washington DC between 11am and 1pm in case of a genuine emergency like death or illness of a blood relation, subject to production of proof and confirmed air ticket. An amount of US$100 is charged, over and above the normal visa fees, for providing emergency service. Emergency service will not be available to applicants falling under reference categories.This service is not available for visa applications sent by mail. Emergency service is not available on Sundays and on national holidays like January 26, August 15 and October 2. You may wish to enquire from the concerned officer about arrangements for such emergency service. The decision of the Consular Officer in this matter shall be final.
DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL/LAISSEZ-PASSERS PASSPORT HOLDERS:
HOWEVER THE EMBASSY AT WASHINGTON, DC AND CONSULATES GENERAL AT NEW YORK, SAN FRANCISCO, CHICAGO AND HOUSTON WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE AND SERVICE VISAS I.R.O DIPLOMATIC/OFFICIAL/LAISSEZ-PASSERS PASSPORT HOLDERS.
The visa may be picked after 4 business days, if not ready due to administrative process, then the person will be intimated by phone/e-mail”.
Official/diplomatic passport holders also need to attach the following:
- Please fill out the following Visa application form. This Application Form is to be used by Official/Diplomatic/UN LP Passport holders only. It will not be accepted at Travisa Outsourcing.
- Letter from Department of State (Gale McCoy office of Passport Issuance Agency)
- Fill and attach the Additional information form
- Fill and attach the following form
- Letter of invitation from Indian agencies in case of bilateral visits
Guidelines for individuals working in designated U.S. agencies or technology areas applying for visa to visit India (Persons belonging to the above categories* applying for visa for India are required to submit their application at least two weeks in advance to enable timely process of their cases. This would come into effect from February 01, 2008. )
