Press Release on Ambassador's interaction with members of the CII-India Business Forum

Washington, DC

India’s Ambassador to the United States, Nirupama Rao held an interactive session with the members of the CII-India Business Forum (CII-IBF) in Washington D.C. on 16 September 2011.  In the meeting, 25 top representatives of the CII-IBF member companies were present.            

          Ambassador Rao appreciated the role being played by the CII-IBF and its membership in strengthening commercial ties between our two countries. She underlined the importance of trade, investment, business and technology partnerships that the IBF membership were forging with U.S. businesses in promoting India-US trade and economic relationship.           

          Ambassador Rao also took stock of the issues and challenges, including visa and market access problems that face the Indian businesses in the United States. She offered Embassy’s full assistance in constructively addressing the challenges being faced by the IBF members. 

          CII-IBF was formed in 2006. Its current membership of the 31 includes top India companies such as TCS, WIPRO, Infosys, ICICI Bank, L&T etc.
