Conclusion |
Strategy of AIDS Policy The national AIDS control policy principally aims at the
following strategy for prevention and control of the disease:-
- Prevention of further spread of the disease by making the people at large and specially
the high risk groups, aware of its implications and provide them with the necessary tools
for protecting themselves from getting infected. Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
among sexually active, economically productive groups together with promotion of condom
use a measure of prevention from HIV infection will be the most important component of the
prevention strategy.
- To provide an enabling socio-economic environment so that individuals and families
affected with HIV/AIDS can manage the problem themselves with their family and community
support.
- Improving services for the care of people living with AIDS in times of sickness both in
hospitals and at homes through community health care.
