Prime Minister Vajpayee's official visit to the United States

At the invitation of the President of the United States, Mr. Bill Clinton, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee is to pay an official visit to the United States of America and will be in Washington from September 15-17, 2000.  Their discussions will contribute to a closer and qualitatively new relationship between India and the US visualized during the visit to India of President Clinton in March 2000.  The two leaders look forward to broadening the cooperation between the two countries across a wide range of common interests.

Prime Minister Vajpayee will be visiting New York and San Francisco also.
