Recent developments in the case of the killing of
Mr. Graham Staines and his two sons in the State of Orissa

May 4, 1999

The CBI has arrested two persons Ojen Hansda and Chinchu Hansda in the case relating to the killing of the Australian missionary, Graham Stewart Staines and his two sons. An official release said in New Delhi that the accused belonged to Manoharpur village. They admitted their involvement and that of absconding accused Dara Singh and few others. CBI has announced a cash reward of Rs. 500,00 for clues leading to the arrest of Dara Singh.

May 5, 1999

The D. P. Wadhwa commission of inquiry probing the killing of the Australian Missionary Graham Stewart Staines and his two sons at Manoharpur in January has issued a notice to Dara Singh the main accused in the case. The Commission asked him to appear before the commission either in person or through his authorized representative. The notice said the commission considers it necessary to enquire into the conduct of Dara Singh.

May 12, 1999

Madhu Mohanta, one of the accused in the killing of Australian missionary Graham Stewart Staines and his two sons in Orissa in January, has been arrested. Mohanta is reportedly a close associate of Dara Singh, the main accused in the case.
