The Following is the text of a press release issued by the Ministry
of External Affairs, New Delhi
The government and the people of India are shocked and
greatly saddened at the wanton acts of
terrorism perpetrated yesterday in Nairobi and
Dar-es-Salaam leading to tragic loss of life, injuries
to innocent people and widespread damage to property.
Prime Minister of India has today sent messages
to the President of Kenya, Tanzania and the United
States of America expressing deep shock and sorrow
over the incidents as well as underscoring the
need for all countries to cooperate effectively
to combat the scourge of international terrorism. He
has also conveyed India's readiness to extend humanitarian
assistance to Kenya and Tanzania.
