All suburban train services restored
on proper routes

All suburban train services have been restored in Mumbai on the Church Gate – Virar – Borivali route since this morning besides restoration of Main line services. Union Minister for Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad has announced an amount of Rs. 500,000 for those killed, Rs. 50000 for those grievously injured and Rs. 10,000 for those with simple injuries. As of now, 180 people have died in these bomb blasts, out of which 76 bodies have been identified. 157 persons have been grievously injured and 187 have received simple injuries. 372 persons, who received trivial injuries left for their homes after being given first aid. All the injured persons have been admitted to the hospitals and needy patients have been provided with fresh clothes. The critically injured persons requiring special care have been shifted to speciality hospitals.
The Railways Minister has ordered for provision of temporary cell phone connections to the injured persons in the hospitals for communication with their relatives. The identification of death cases is continuing and Railways are making arrangements for fleshing photographs of those remaining unidentified, in the media.
It may be recalled here that 8 bomb blasts had occurred yesterday evening involving seven trains at seven locations affecting train services on the Western Railway suburban section. The Union Minister for Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad, Chairman, Railway Board, Shri J. P. Batra, Member (Traffic) Railway Board, Shri S. B. Ghosh Dastidar, Director General, Railway Protection Force, Shri A. K. Suri and Director General (Health) Dr. D. K. Das had visited the site of the bomb blasts yesterday, besides visiting the injured in the hospitals.
