Delhi on November 1, 1998, Mr. Sikander Bakht, Union Minister of Industry said that the
recommendations in the Information Technology (IT) Action Plan will speed up, broaden and
deepen the process of economic reforms by encouraging competition, entrepreneurship and

Force set up to prepare tourism action plan Ministry of Tourism has set up four task forces to prepare action
plan for development of Tourism. The task force consisting of representatives of
industries and other experts will study the problems, interact with the people involved in
tourism activities and undertake comparative study of tourism plans of various countries.

Commission for Children to be arms with statutory powers The proposal for formation of National Commission for Children is
likely to be placed before Parliament in the Budget session. This was stated by the

Security Council set up The Prime
Minister has approved the establishment of the National Security Council. The structure of
the National Security Council envisages a three-tier structure and is essentially based on
the report of the Task Force which it had recently submitted to the Prime Minister.
The National Security Council will be headed by the Prime Minister and will have the
following membership: Home Minister, Defense Minister, External Affairs Minister, Finance
Minister and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission. (more) |
Kalam asks
scientists to keep technology from Geo-Politics The Chairman of the Technology Information, Forecasting and
