Ministry of Tourism has set up four task forces to prepare action plan for development of Tourism. The task force consisting of representatives of industries an other experts will study the problems, interact with the people involved in tourism activities and undertake comperative study of tourism plans of various ountries . They will also obtain suggestions through Internet and E-Mail. Each askforce will prepare a specific action plan in respect of area allotted to it within a monh and submit it to the Ministry.

Composition of taskforces are as under:

Taskforce on Infrastsructure for Tourism - Shri Ravi Boothalingam-Convenor, Shri R.K. Puri and Shri Narayanan

Taskforce on Product Development and Environment - Shri D.S. Chawda - Convenor, Shri Krishan S. Rana, Shri Ashish Banerjee and Shri Cyrus Guzder.

Taskforce on Human Resource Development - Shri K.K. Malhotra - Convenor, Shri Lalit Nirula and Shri Pradeep Madhavji.

Taskforce on Promotion, Marketing and Technology - Shri S.S.H. Rahman - Convenor, Ms. Neeraj Ghei and Shri A.J. Kumar.

These taskforces were set up after a brain storming session held for the preparation of action plan under the chairmanship of Secretary, Tourism, Shri M.P.Bizbarua. The Session was attended by several professionals from industry and other experts. Some of the suggestions came up during the discsussion were reation of brand image and positioning of India in the overseas markets accordingly, providing of adequate incentives to ecotourism projects, setting up of a N ational Toruism Autority, introduction of Tourism in the school curriculam and atracting crusiesffic and promoting convention tourism etc.
