At the invitation of U.S. President George W. Bush, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Washington, DC from November 7-9, 2001.  During the visit, Prime Minister Vajpayee held bilateral talks with President Bush, met Congressional leaders and addressed the Indian American community.
